Helping people move from pain to possibility.

Practical yoga therapy for healthier hips, a more supported lower back and greater confidence in your body.

Founder of the Healthy Hips & Lower Back Workshop, travelling throughout Australia and New Zealand.

A different way to work with hip and lower-back pain

Pain can shrink your world and change the way you move, think and relate to your body.

My work brings together therapeutic yoga, fascia-focused release, breath, functional strength and practical education—helping you understand what your body is communicating and move with greater ease.

My understanding was earned the hard way

After a head-on car accident left me with four bulging discs and years of chronic pain, yoga helped me rebuild trust in my body. What began as a search for relief became the work I now share with others.

I teach from an embodied experience.

My understanding has been shaped through lived experience, curiosity, humility and years of listening and looking at the way bodies function, including my own.

“This workshop is by far the best thing I’ve done for my back. I have a lot more range and it’s much easier to move. What a difference.”

“Thank you, Jo! You have given me so much knowledge when it comes to strengthening and my lower back. I have been in a great deal of pain and have tried many different things before this workshop to fix it (specialists, chiropractor, physio, acupuncture) my GP is certain I will need back surgery and has me on very strong medication for relief so I can do daily tasks… After doing your workshop my back felt loose and light and after being so restricted it had a lot more range, I was able to move!

You have given me hope that what I have learned from you at the workshop will be what I be what I need to self heal my back without having to have surgery and to stop taking medication. What an incredible difference you have made. Thank you so much.”

    What a difference. Highly recommended.”

“I recently attended Jo’s lower back and hips workshop in Blackheath and loved it.

The sequence she taught was slow and thoughtful, accommodating for my lower back issues (which include bulging and missing discs) and left me feeling deeply released, especially in the upper back and shoulders which tend to get tight as I manage the challenges of lower back injury.

I thoroughly recommend Jo’s workshop to anyone ready take ownership of their hip and back pain and step beyond the usual methods of pain and injury management.”

    Thanks Jo.

“Jo’s workshop for healthy hips and lower back was absolutely brilliant! Not only did I learn some really valuable postures and techniques to take with me into my future practice, Jo provided and held a beautiful safe space for a really profound shift in myself. I connected to something deeper, my own innate healing. A true aha! moment for which I am truly grateful. Thank you for your light Jo.”

“When I first saw Jo, I had constant neck pain that I just let build up until it was unbearable. I've tried many things from physio, chiro, other massage modalities. Some helped but most didn't.

After having one session with Jo my neck feels amazing. I never thought I would get this much movement back again or not be in constant pain. It was the most relaxing experience and released so much pressure.

Jo has a passion for helping people and she really listened to me. I think that, combined with her warm nature and the way her energy lights up a room made me feel comfortable when I walked in, is what I appreciated most.

You cannot put a price of health, and Jo's services are worth every cent!

If she’s in your town, book a session with her. I cannot wholeheartedly recommend her enough.”

  • Jenny. Bonny Hills

“I attended Jo Doyle’s hips and lower back workshop in Bonny Hills. I have learnt and gained better results from this 2.5 hour workshop with her than I have having 4 sessions at the physio.

I feel empowered and I feel enthusiastic and I feel that I can really make a difference to my own healing with my back and hips, and that is saying something!”

    Thanks so much, Jo

“As a yoga teacher, I was deeply moved by Josephine's story. I found myself continually impressed by both her knowledge and her lived experience. Knowing that she had once faced the possibility of ending up in a wheelchair, and then seeing the way she moves today, completely shifted my perspective on what a dedicated yoga practice can achieve.

Josephine is living proof of the transformative potential of yoga. Her experience brings the science and philosophy of the practice to life in a way that's both authentic and inspiring. It reminded me that yoga is so much more than movement—it's a practice that can profoundly change the way we live in our bodies.

As a teacher, I especially valued the depth of knowledge Jo shared and the practical way she presented it. Everything was relevant, accessible, and immediately applicable, regardless of experience.

I'm incredibly grateful to have met Jo and to have hosted this workshop at my studio in Longreach. It was a powerful experience for both myself and my community, and I know it will continue to influence the way I teach and practise for years to come. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this workshop to any studio or teacher looking to deepen their understanding of yoga.”

“Jo, last night I attended your workshop. Most days I have woken up very stiff and sore, I had to work at getting my back stretched and moving.

I sat up this morning and for the first time in a long time with reduced pain and stiffness. Your workshop is remarkable. Thank you.

Please let me know when you plan to return to Newstead. “
