A travelling yoga therapy workshop

Stretch and Strengthen

Our spines are built to move, it is how they work best, and its how they heal, yet when we have chronic pain, even a simple ativity such as walking can be a really challenging thing to do, in fact almost impossible... almost!
How do I know?
I have been there myself, unable to move without pain and I have healed myself, naturally, through the benefits of yoga.

The Lower Back & Hips Workshop is a practical, educational, and personalized clinic. You will learn easy, gentle therapeutic stretches that loosen the lower back, surrounding muscles, connective tissue, and fascia.
It is easier than you could imagine and I am excited to pass on my wisdom to help you live a pain free life!

This workshop is designed to help the average person find space and freedom in their bodies. We cover simple methods, in a fun and practical way that will make a big difference to your quality of life.
Feel free to contact me here if you have any questions about your specific circumstances before attending the workshop, I would love to hear from you. Be sure to book in when I am passing through your town.
  • Josephine is an inspiring yoga teacher with the lived experience of moving through chronic pain and loss to a fully enriched life of freedom. She shares her knowledge with grace, intuition and compassion to support those on a similar journey. The workshop and her bodywork is highly recommended.

  • “I am so grateful to have met Jo Doyle and to have attended her happy hips and lower back workshop at Blackheath.

I met Jo at a time when I was in acute pain with sciatica and her commitment to her healing practice was abundantly evident.

Jo is overwhelmingly generous with her time and expertise which has been informed by her own path in overcoming crippling pain. She is intuitive and compassionate in her instruction and guidance as well as being very grounded and relatable in her therapeutic approach.

I loved every moment of the workshop, I felt safe and nurtured and left the workshop with great hope and trust in my body’s capacity to heal itself through practicing Jo’s techniques and attending her workshops on an ongoing basis.

I would recommend Jo’s workshops to anyone and anybody who will listen and frankly have been doing just that!”

  • I just wanted to thank you SO much for Sunday's Happy Hips workshop. When I arrived I had back and shoulder issues that have been causing pain (sitting, standing, bending, lying down - the only comfortable place was in the bath!) for months and also causing weird digestive issues (gas, noise and um inconsistent consistency ). On Sunday night I walked to my car with no pain, slept on my stomach for the first time in a year, slept through the night not woken up by pain and had zero nil NO digestive worries. OMG!!! Things aren't all fixed but my day now starts and finishes on a bolster and my back is my friend again. Thank you!!”

    — Carla, Blackheath

  • Thank you, Jo! You have given me so much knowledge when it comes to strengthening and lengthening my lower back. I have been in a great deal of pain and have tried many different things before this workshop to fix it (specialists, chiropractor, physio, acupuncture) my GP is certain I will need back surgery and has me on very strong medication for relief so I can do daily tasks… After doing your workshop my back felt loose and light after being so restricted and it had a lot more range, I was able to move! You have given me hope that what I have learned from you at the workshop will be what I be what I need to self heal my back without having to have surgery and to stop taking medication. What an incredible difference you have made. Thank you so much.

  • “Fabulous workshop, Jo. I love your big hearted attitude. It’s such a breath of fresh air in the yoga world! Your playfulness relaxes the whole process and he workshop gave me a tool box of poses that I can relax into and some how expand. My back thanks you so much!”

All the best, Ana. Blackheath, NSW

  • “Wow wow wow!! My wife & I had the pleasure of Josephine Doyle from “Josephine Doyle Yoga” teaching us her “Healthy Happy Hips & Lower Back” workshop today and I never believed I could enjoy every moment of the 2.5 hour class. We have been taught by many yoga teachers over the years & by far Jo is in a league of her own. I learnt so much about my body & the correct ways to stretch which released so much tension. I now feel amazing. We loved this workshop and Jo’s energy that we can’t wait to do again. Please come back Jo to our hood!!”

  • I recently attended Jo’s lower back and hips workshop in Blackheath and loved it.

The sequence she taught was slow and thoughtful, accommodating for my lower back issues (which include bulging and missing discs) and left me feeling deeply released, especially in the upper back and shoulders which tend to get tight as I manage the challenges of lower back injury.

I thoroughly recommend Jo’s workshop to anyone ready take ownership of their hip and back pain and step beyond the usual methods of pain and injury management.

    Thanks Jo.

  • “Jo’s yoga classes are very VERY special. There are so many things that draw me to her again and again. Hers is a deeply soul-centred approach and one that I wholeheartedly resonate with. The mini Savasana's that are peppered throughout the practice, the constant invitation to breathe into my body, to soften INTO my body, to feel into my body and her language that feeds my soul – it’s all so beautiful and makes it so much more than an ordinary yoga class.”

    — Vanessa Teklenburg, Avoca NSW

  • “Thanks heaps for the class yesterday. As someone who has had very mixed experiences of yoga classes in the past, I was really happy to have such a good experience. It was great that there was no pressure to ‘get it right’ and that you were actively encouraging and assisting people to find their own way to participate. I was worried about doing such a long class but it makes sense to me now that taking that time is exactly what I needed to relax and be in my body.”

    — Amanda, Blackheath

  • I had my first ever yoga session this morning. Jo knew exactly what I needed physically (after quite a bad fall last week), however, she also knew exactly what I needed mentally and emotionally. Her calm, gentle, encouraging and incredibly healing nature is amazing and I can honestly say that I am floating.

    Thank you! Jacqueline. Murchison, Victoria

  • These online yoga classes are so much more with you at the helm, Jo.

You hold space for a potent and powerful women’s circle.

A deep reflection of truth, of expansion, a reflection higher consciousness, love and strength. You are a mighty medicine woman with the heart of a lioness.

I feel an extraordinary connection to my inner world, the words you use land like soft feathers on my skin. I feel a sense of hope and possibility the more I attend your online classes, through all that I let go of. My body is easier to move in now and I sleep so soundly.

  • Thank you for your generosity, the way you teach is a gift to us all who attend and your lessons linger long after the class has ended. I relish your philosophy and now understand the need for compassion.

Congratulations on creating a really special online community, its wonderful to make new friends and laugh on your zoom classes.

Thank you for making a huge difference. I’ll be telling my friends about your magic.

  • “ I attended Jo Doyle’s happy hips and lower back yoga workshop in Blackheath.
Jo has an inclusive style that makes everyone in the room feel seen and accommodated for no matter where you are in your practice or pain.

Jo’s knowledge of the most therapeutic yoga for backs and hips is extraordinary and she has learned through her own recovery from back injury.

The spaciousness of time Jo allows to really explore the pose and then to observe in the body the effects of them is very beneficial. Her humour, warmth and compassion is evident in all that she brings to class.

I would recommend Jo’s workshop whether you have back and hip issues or not.

You will be in safe and knowledgeable hands.

  • “I fell over an open dishwasher and slammed my knee into the floor. I’ve been having online chair yoga with Jo and can now walk without pain, we have managed to fix my knee problem and I am enjoying my increased flexibility (and to think I thought chair yoga was for “old people”)

I love Jo’s positive yet practical attitude, she’s a “no excuses” woman! Thanks Jo!

  • What an incredible workshop! Jo pours so much love and honesty into what she does. I learnt so much about how to adjust my yoga practice to support my back, listening to my body, being mindful during practise and most importantly the reminder that we are so much more than our physical body. Jo is such a light and hearing her story has inspired me that I absolutely can heal. Thankyou.

  • I booked a private session with Jo. She is the true essence of joy and authenticity and has a great knowledge of the body workings and all things yoga, spirit and healing.

My body is absolutely loving it. Highly recommend a session with Jo, it’s the perfect remedy for your day and tonic for your sleep. Can’t wait for the next class!

  • Jo’s workshop for happy healthy hips and lower back was absolutely brilliant! Not only did I learn some really valuable postures and techniques to take with me into my future practice, Jo provided and held a beautiful safe space for a really profound shift in myself. I connected to something deeper, my own innate healing. A true aha! moment for which I am truly grateful. Thank you for your light Jo.

  • “When I first saw Jo, I had constant neck pain that I just let build up until it was unbearable. I've tried many things from physio, chiro, other massage. Some helped but most didn't.

After having one session with Jo my neck feels amazing. I never thought I would get this much movement back again or not be in constant pain.

It was the most relaxing experience and released so much pressure.

Jo has a passion for helping people and she really listened to me. I think that, combined with her warm nature and the way her energy lights up a room made me feel comfortable when I walked in, is what I appreciated most.

You cannot put a price of health, and Jo's services are worth every cent!

If she’s in your town, book a session with her. I cannot wholeheartedly recommend her enough.

    Jordan Betts. Vincentia

  • “I attended Jo Doyle’s hips and lower back workshop in Bonny Hills. I have learnt and gained better results from this 2.5 hour workshop with her than I have having 4 sessions at the physio.

I feel empowered and I feel enthusiastic and I feel that I can really make a difference to my own healing with my back and hips, and that is saying something!”

    Thanks so much, Jo

  • ‘Jo provided individual strategies which I could implement into both yoga and daily life to assist in healing and stregthening of my lower back and hip injuries, even when I didnt speak up, her intuition and observation skills were spot on, encouraging conversation and solutions to the group as a whole’ Highly recommend
